I received this e-mail via an online support group to which I subscribe.  I have heard of this 'movie' but had no idea about the denigration of physically and mentally challenged people.  I have absolutley no reason to suspect New Jersey ARC (Association of Retarded Citizens) of making this up (see their message below).  If what they say is accurate then this movie is a moral outrage.

I have a 3 yr old son with some physical and sensory challenges and we know plenty of people who care and support children with some mental difficulties.  Anyone who has or knows such a child is well aware that society often forgets this segment (Bush - No Child Left Behind), or deliberatly goes out their way to poke fun at them.  Ben Stiller is a two bit actor at best but is old enough to know better - unless he himself has some mental challenges?

I have wanted to write an in depth diary as to why I am boycotting these Olympics and why I am amazed that the progressive/liberal/Democrat netroots have not called for a boycott, but... I have been way to busy.

So I leave you with some thoughts from a couple of comments I made on another diary.

This is a simple diary, there's not a lot to say. I also cross posted a modified version of this on my blog (Left in Lowell) and Blue Mass Group.

For me, not watching the Chinese-hosted Olympics isn't the biggest sacrifice I'll make this summer. (That honor goes to the work I'll be doing to help with this very cool Obama fundraiser, "National Anthem" which my musically-inclined friends at Blue Mass Group are planning. If you're in the Boston area in September, consider buying a ticket.)

No, I'm not the biggest watcher in the country of either the summer or winter Olympics, but this year, I will not watch one damned second of the Games. Why? Because though the Olympics are supposed to be a symbol of cooperation and open spirit, China has actually become more repressive in the lead up to the opening ceremony.

As the mother of a child with Autism I took action and wrote a letter to the management of the local station which airs Mr. Savage's disgusting show.

I came home from work this morning to find an offline message from a friend urging me to join a boycott of McDonald's.  There's even a Website too.  So I checked it out ... and wouldn't you know, it's another production brought to us by the American Family Association.  

WaPo tells us what has the Tupelo Ayatollah so upset.

A group that opposes same-sex marriage has called for a boycott of McDonald's, saying the fast-food giant has refused "to stay neutral in the cultural war over homosexuality."

The American Family Association (AFA) launched the boycott yesterday because McDonald's joined the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce several months ago and placed an executive on the group's board of directors, in addition to donating to the chamber.

To my mind, this boycott is going to be a prime candidate for the "Biggest Waste of Time Ever" award.  McDonald's sales are probably in the tank as it is--after all, who wants to scrounge for Big Macs when you have to pay $4 for gas?

As we move forward into the long holiday weekend, let's remember who it was that created the entire concept of "the weekend" in the first place:  the worker-activists we know collectively as the labor movement.  This Saturday, we can stand in solidarity with those struggling on the front lines of today's labor movement, and I promise it won't take any of your time and it won't cost you a dime.

But if they're pissing off the American Family Association, they must be doing something right.

Say what? The fast food corporation that is notorious for clearing rainforest to pasture thier cattle is coming out for gay equality? I think my head is going to explode. Wanna watch? Follow me!

But, I have just one question.

As reported by Alex Blaze several weeks ago, William Bolthouse, founder and 43% owner of Bolthouse Farms, a farm in California that provides organic juices, lemonades, and smoothies to places like Whole Foods and other organic market places, has just recently given a donation of $100,000 to proponents of a campaign to strip California couples of the right to marry.

We know that many progressive people are concerned about what they put in their bodies, and we wanted to let you and your friends know that organic juice you maybe enjoying could be helping to strip the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people of the right to marry in California.

During the last couple of days, news reports have come out regarding Israel's recent military exercises preparing for an eventual attack on Iran's nuclear facilities.  Suddenly, Ari Fleischer's name comes to mind recalling a conversation I had with a friend over a year ago regarding some secret Jewish coalition raising funds in excess of $200 million to wage a propaganda war in America in an attempt to gain American support for another war against Iran. Now that story didn't seem to hang around for long until recent.  Ari Fleichser aka "Joseph Goebbels" and his Israeli warmongers are testing the waters for a possible attack on Iran
in an attempt to drag America in to the fold. Do we just stand by and allow Israel to further incite tensions bringing the world to the brink of WWIII?  

Today, the congressional leadership of the Democratic party has seemingly caved in to Bush on the most important issue in politics, an issue that lies at the heart of what America was founded on, and what we stand for. I'm talking, of course, about the FISA compromise cave in Nancy Pelosi, Steny Hoyer, and their ilk announced today. Yep-after showing some signs of actually having backbone and allowing the Protect AT&T act to die, they've retreated to their usual spineless selves and are now telling you that giving Bush and his telco cronies the power to spy on you at will is such a wonderful idea, and you really should shut your looney left trap and get behind them.
I think its past time to show these people just how important we are to them, and what their life would be like without us.

I was recently on the subway going to an appointment when I looked up at the advertisements on the train and I was shocked, astonished, disgusted, outraged.

To the amazement of my fellow train riders I stood up and started flashing pictures of this advertisement located below the fold...

I won't make this a long entry. But there's a major Boycott of the Associated Press going down.

We all know that Faux News is unfair and unbalanced.  Commentators like Mike Huckabee, Tony Snow, Shawn Hannity, Michelle Malkin, Ann Coulter and Bill O'Rielly make this more than evident.  But hwat makes me scratch my head, as Rupert Murdoch flirts with Obama, is the incredibly racist attacks Fox has been puuling on the wife of the candidate, Michelle Obama, over the last few weeks.

A coalition of Seattle activists is petitioning to get an anti-Israel divestment referendum on November's ballot and they are attempting to deceive voters in the process.  The referendum's sweeping anti-Israel provisions are concealed both in the text of the petition and in the statements of its supporters, both of which highlight its other provisions calling for divestment in companies profiting from the war in Iraq.  The anti-Iraq War provisions of Initiative 97 are touted in its title ("DIVEST FROM WAR Initiative") which is printed in a large font headline above a description of the referendum in smaller print. The full text of the referendum appears on a separate page which appears after the petition's signature page, potentially deceiving voters who don't read all the way through to see the less popular anti-Israel language. Many of the Obama supporters (like myself) on Mydd.com who have dared directly call Jerome Armstrong out for his shilling for Hillary Clinton, as well as the blatant racism and McCain worship that has engulfed his site, have been banned by this egomaniac "blogfather."  

Jerome (and his woeful site) is a has been.  He maintains his stature due to Markos's charity, but he has proven to be a biased mini-tyrant who stomps on speech at mydd.com.  Not only will I not go back there, I would like to put out this solemn call for others to avoid giving his barely Democratic site undeserved traffic.

Boycott Fox advertisers until Fox denounces Trotta on air, bans her from future appearances, and offers an apology to Obama and the nation.
